GFA President Represents Grenada on the Global Stage at Soccerex Europe 2026

The Grenada Football Association (GFA) has recorded another significant milestone in its international outreach, with President Marlon Glean taking part as a featured speaker at Soccerex Europe 2026—one of the global football industry’s foremost forums for business and strategic dialogue. The event took place at the iconic Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam from 11–13 May 2026, gathering key stakeholders from across the world of football.

Soccerex positions the conference as a flagship meeting point for the sport’s commercial and strategic ecosystem, where senior figures from clubs, federations, global brands, media organisations, and investment circles converge to shape football’s next chapter.

President Glean’s involvement came only days after his re-election for a second term as head of the GFA, underscoring both leadership continuity and the association’s intent to keep Grenada firmly present in high-level international football discourse. In its announcement on 9 May 2026, the GFA confirmed his re-election during the Extraordinary Congress, renewing the mandate for the administration’s broader development vision.

At Soccerex Europe, President Glean joined a panel discussion titled “Football Without Borders: Expanding into New Markets,” alongside other influential voices in the sport. According to the official Soccerex programme, the session examined how football’s future growth is increasingly rooted beyond its traditional powerhouses. The conversation explored themes such as market entry approaches, cultural dynamics, grassroots investment, and emerging commercial prospects across developing football regions. For Grenada, the platform served as a meaningful channel to contribute to global dialogue on how smaller and developing football nations can unlock value and attract strategic partnerships.

His participation also helped reinforce a clear strategic narrative: that Grenada is an emerging football market with significant untapped potential for investment in local clubs and players, alongside opportunities linked to training camps, international friendlies, and wider football business cooperation with European stakeholders. Positioned within a discussion on new markets, Grenada’s presence signalled a shifting perception—where smaller football nations are increasingly recognised not only for their participation on the pitch, but also for their role in shaping the sport’s global evolution.

Soccerex Europe also marked President Glean’s second appearance on the Soccerex platform, following his participation at Soccerex Miami in 2025, where he was listed as a speaker on a panel focused on player development and cross-border talent pathways. This continued visibility reflects growing international recognition of Grenada’s football leadership and highlights the GFA’s steady progress in strengthening its footprint within global football development and business networks.

“It is an honour to represent Grenada once again at a major international football forum, particularly so soon after being entrusted with a second term to lead the Grenada Football Association. Our participation at Soccerex Europe reflects the direction we are taking as an organisation, one that is focused not only on football development at home, but also on ensuring that Grenada is present in the conversations that shape the future of the global game. We believe Grenada has real potential as an emerging football market, whether through investment in local talent, support for club development, or opportunities involving training camps and international partnerships, and it was important for that perspective to be represented on this stage,” Glean shared.

As Glean’s administration embarks on its second term, its presence at Soccerex Europe 2026 serves as a timely reminder that football development is driven not only by domestic progress, but also by the strength of international engagement. For Grenada, this moment extends beyond mere participation—it reflects a growing sense of confidence, visibility, and ambition on football’s global stage.
